The retreat offers the opportunity to experience an afternoon of mindfulness practice, guided by experienced teachers. The afternoon will be largely experiential – although there will be time for discussion and exploration – and involve a variety of practices. It is intended to incorporate a period of silence into the session, to give participants the opportunity to deepen their practice without the stimulus of speaking or listening.
The day is suitable for those with no experience of Mindfulness, and it can help to sustain and deepen the practice of those who have previously attended a Mindfulness course or have an established practice. Getting in touch with your body and bringing an attitude of kindness and respect towards it is an intention for many of the meditations we will practice during the day.
Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and to bring some layers for warmth. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the afternoon.
